The dying media

The problem with lying politicians isn't too many columns about mia_pos_tKKK.

The problem is the actual lack of coverage. There is a chance there have been more columns by Mr. Tingley and his Substack Columns, then all coverage by any one media in mia_pos_tKKK's district.

And here is a funny tidbit. When I point this out to the local media (their lack of coverage) on social media, there are one of three responses: 1) “we are too small;” 2) no response or 3) I am blocked.

That is our media now. Perfect example the Adirondack empty Prize. They have one of the best investigative reporters I have seen. But surely he is overwhelmed with all the stories that need to be written... and since he is the only one worth reading on that staff. The important stories go to him.. even the fluff.

I have pointed that out, I can’t anymore they block me. So now I can’t point out that 1/5 of the paper is columns that have absolutely no relevant news in them; 2/5 stories are off the wire; 1/5 is columns and the remaining portion of the paper the staff and only about a 1/3rd of that is news. 

I am guessing for many now the most important part of the paper is the crossword puzzle.

mia_pos_tKKK posts a lie (at least one) every day on her social media

EVERY f-ing DAY.

So maybe the local media is too small to cover every lie, but it would not be hard for them to once a week or even once a month post statements by mia_pos_tKKK and acknowledge they are lies.

It wouldn’t be that hard because 90% would be like this:

“ On Dec.28, mia_pos_tKKK made a statement about immigration that is false, she has made that false statement BEFORE!! ”

The hard part, maybe keeping a counter on all the times she has used that same lie.

What is unbelievable to me is that some of the local media runs mia_pos_tKKK statements and press releases. If you are going to do that THEN for the love of honesty => point out the lies in them, or DO NOT print them.

I’ve noticed the local media is now so lazy that there will be a news article, that they localize, like a story about a man who shot three Vermont students, and went to Paul Smiths’ College.. and they didn’t include much of what the shooter said online echoed the hate speech of mia_pos_tKKK.

Maybe the columns should not be about mia_pos_tKKK’s (again), but a reminder that the local media did nothing about it this time (AGAIN).

And a call for people to write those local media... I have tried to write them, they block me... maybe they will block others...

But then maybe we will know why they are failing, not just financially, but editorially.
