A third Olympics would be a 'miracle'
The Olympics in Lake Placid is a non starter.. there are a couple obvious signs.. but we can now add a third.
The first two related to a speed skating oval.
For the last 40+ years Lake Placid has been working a campaign of “Look at me, give me money and somehow you might get a crumb”
Promoting itself while asking all the small communities in the Adirondacks to help them... And doing little to help anyone but the ‘Olympic Village’.
Recently they did several upgrades.. a major one for the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval. There was an improvement in 2021 that cost $12.4 million (https://suncommunitynews.com/news/94247/olympic-oval-reopens-dec-23-in-lake-placid/ - - - > if you read this article keep in mind it is a press release from NY Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) merely fluffed up by a mediocre The Sun reporter).
There are two things wrong with that improvement.
One: if you look at the recent Olympics - all of the rinks are inside. Outdoor rinks have many problems.. the main one.. it is outdoors. The sun sets on it in various way that makes conditions different on different areas of the ice. And it is subjective to weather conditions (that affect both athletes and spectators). From snow to rain.. cold to heat.
There is no way the current oval could be the site for an Olympic Event. Along with the outdoor part.. there really isn’t room for spectators in the current location (it is too close to the road for stands on that side and on the other side you would have to knock down a school).
Two: And if they were serious about having the Olympics in the ‘region’ they would have started from scratch with a new Oval.. and it would have been wise to put it in Tupper Lake.. to spread the possible future Olympics out. To let Tupper Lake ‘wet their beak’ as the saying goes. The Oval in Tupper would have created a need to have more hotels built in somewhere other than Lake Placid. Tupper would also be an entrance point from the West.

There is a third reason.. Politics and namely pos_tfnKKK! For 11 years she has been failing at everything she touches. She currently is trying to take credit for the 1980 ‘Miracle on Ice’ hockey team... an event she wasn’t even alive for.. but clearly wants people to think she is responsible for.
But:
ª has she created any coalitions with other NYS politicians? NO
ª has she created any coalitions with other gQpedos politicians? NO
ª has she created any coalitions with anyone? NO
But it isn’t her fault.. she is a failure.. the fault lies with anyone who believes the bull manure of pos_tfnKKK.
If this wasn’t enough… Lake Placid lives in a vacuum where they have no self-awareness. One would be Park City, a place that has hosted Olympics more recently and has better access to the various venues.. and the future host (https://utah2034.org/ ) of the 2024 Olympics.
Maybe the best thing for the Utah Olympics.. they don’t have pos_tfnKKK around to f- it up.
